CCTS is pleased to announce its six 2017 Community Health Innovation Award (CHIA) grantees. A total of $85,000 will be distributed to enable these grantees to develop their projects addressing health concerns in the Birmingham community.

The below grantees participated in a rigorous process that included attending a mandatory Innovation Workshop to refine their project ideas, submission of a full proposal that was formally reviewed against the CHIA criteria, access to mentorship, and a final presentation of their project before a panel of three judges.

A record number of applicants applied this year, followed by a record number of applicants who participated in the mandatory workshop and submitted proposals. The below CHIA recipients were selected from a group of 12 finalists. Join us in congratulating them! CCTS is also deeply grateful to the many volunteers and staff who helped make CHIA 2017 a success.
