Laying low with your quarantine crew this holiday season? Here are some things you can do from home or outside over the next few weeks to have some fun, give back, or to just keep from watching your favorite show for the 15th time.

    2. Adopt a letter to Santa with the USPS Operation Santa, and help bring a little joy to a child or family in need.

    3. Find a virtual volunteer opportunity in cause areas like health and medicine, education, and community building through VolunteerMatch.

    4. Create a snack station at your front door for delivery drivers, and help keep these essential workers fueled during what is likely the busiest holiday season they’ve ever encountered.

    5. Plan a virtual game night with friends or family. Here are some great ideas to help you get started!

    6. Rent a movie theater auditorium to host your own socially-distant, small-group movie viewing. It’s less expensive than you might think!

    7. Take a virtual cooking class and start the new year with a new recipe. This list includes free and paid options.

    8. Give blood if you are able. There is still a critical need for blood donations, so make an appointment today. And, if you’ve recently recovered fully from COVID-19, you could help other patients by giving convalescent plasma. Learn more.

    9. Donate to support food banks across the country through Feeding America to help provide meals for families in need this season. Did you know that just one dollar can provide at least 10 meals? Give once or set up a recurring donation if you are able.

    10. Take a holiday lights tour, and see what neighborhoods near you have the most festive decorations. Bring along hot chocolate and make a night of it!
