Our Program:
In the UAB Huntsville Psychiatry Residency Program, our mission is to cultivate compassionate, competent, and culturally responsive psychiatrists. Residents in this program will receive training in psychiatry and its subspecialties, developing the knowledgebase necessary to provide comprehensive mental health care to patients. The program will foster an environment of lifelong learning, facilitating the well-being of both residents and faculty members through programmatic and institutional initiatives.
In alignment with Huntsville Hospital, the Psychiatry Program is committed to excellence in both medical education and patient care. Through rigorous education, diverse clinical experiences, opportunities for research, and dedicated mentorship, we aim to empower and shape the future leaders of the psychiatry field and the future leaders of the Huntsville community.
The four-year Psychiatry Residency Program at the UAB Huntsville Regional Medical Campus is ACGME approved and accepts up to six residents per year.
We are privileged to educate the next generation of psychiatrists and welcome your interest in training at UAB HRMC.
