The Graduation Questionnaire (GQ) is administered by the AAMC each year to fourth-year medical students prior to their completion of medical school. The questionnaire is a national survey with participation from 155 schools. The results are reviewed closely by Department of Medical Education leadership to determine areas of success and areas of improvement within our learning environment and student experience.

Angela M. Carter, Ph.D., an assistant professor in the Division of Surgical Oncology, was selected to chair a minisymposium at Neuroscience 2025, the annual meeting of the Society for Neuroscience (SfN) and the largest international gathering of neuroscientists. The meeting was held from November 15 to 19 at the San Diego Convention Center and brought together researchers from around the world to share advances in brain science.
Shu Chen, Ph.D., Ona Faye-Petersen Endowed Professor in the Division of Neuropathology, and Anupam Raina, Ph.D., a postdoctoral fellow in the Chen lab, co-authored a manuscript that was recently selected as an “Editors’ Pick” by the Journal of Biological Chemistry. The paper, titled, “Skin-derived α-synuclein strains from PD, DLB, and MSA induce distinct intracellular pathology and neurodegeneration,” was selected by the editors for its exceptional contribution to the field.

In most people, these bacteria co-exist peacefully and contribute to a mutually beneficial relationship, with both human and bacteria deriving important benefits from the other.
