• About Global Partnerships

The UAB School of Nursing has adopted the following definition and framework for global health action:

"An area for practice, teaching, research, or service that trancends boundaries with the intent of improving health, achieving equity and social justice for all people in support of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)."

The world is interconnected, and so are our programs. At the UAB School of Nursing, global crosses our three areas of work:

    1. Teaching
    2. Research
    3. Service

From caring for a hospital patient with malaria who contracted it while overseas, to packing food with the Stop Hunger Now project to send to victims of a natural disaster, to community education on how to care for diabetes in rural Alabama, all of our work is global.
