We are looking for people with type 2 diabetes for a research study to see if eating large amounts of fresh fruit for 12 weeks can improve your blood sugar and reduce your need for diabetes medications. We are looking for participants ages 20-65 years old, overweight BMI 27-45, were recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes within the last 6 years and are not using insulin. We will provide meals for 12 weeks, and participants will be compensated up to $1,375 plus receive a high-speed blender. You may qualify to participate in an international research study to evaluate the safety and tolerability of an investigational drug for patients with type 2 diabetes and kidney disease. Are you at least 18 years old? Do you have type 2 diabetes mellitus and a clinical diagnosis of kidney disease? Eligible study participants will receive study medications, blood pressure checks, physical exams, laboratory tests and ECG at no cost. Participants will  be reimbursed for time and travel.
