Reframe The Strain
We would never in a million years have thought that there would be a pandemic so serious that it shut down the entire world. We are sure that we can
speak for everybody when we say that it is unbelievable. Between the terror of the virus, the uncertainty of our jobs and the economy, and the sudden adjustments we have all made to our family and social lives, this whole situation has put a seemingly insurmountable amount of stress and strain on us mentally and physically.
We invite you to join UAB URec, Student Health and Wellness, and Counseling Services to Reframe The Strain as we work to lift each other up and overcome this together. We are putting out this challenge in a hope to help you vent your anger and frustration with this situation in a healthy way and begin reframing the strain that anger and frustration into something more positive. Unfortunately, we cannot control the situation, but we can control the way we process and react to it.
*We do want to make sure to mention that this “challenge” is in no way downplaying the seriousness of the situation or anyone’s feelings. This is hopefully a way to help express your anger and frustration in a healthy and proactive way.
How it works:
Reframe The Strain (RTS) will take place on the social media platform Instagram. Using the #ReframeTheStrain and tagging @UABURec, participants will create a post expressing the real anger and frustration they are feeling, then include a funny picture, video or story of how you are overcoming the strain. As we all may have more than one feeling to get out, you can submit as many posts as you want or need.
