  • You are an ACTIVE and enrolled UAB Student that is enrolled in at least 1 credit hour and you are not receiving educational assistance.
    • You are eligible to be the primary member that is able to add any Household Members as well as Minors onto your account.
  • You are an ACTIVE UAB Employee
    • You are eligible for UAB Employee, Platinum, and Non-prime Memberships, as well as adding any Household and Minor Members onto your account.
  • You are an ACTIVE Colleague Employee (Colleagues include: VA Hospital, Children’s Hospital, Sodexo, Capstone, Groome Transportation, Cooper Green, Horizons, SRI, Pyramid Hotel Group)
    • You are eligible for the Colleague Membership and Non-prime Membership, as well as adding any Household and Minor Members onto your account.
  • You are a FORMER UAB Employee who has officially retired through UAB.
    • You are eligible for the Retiree Membership, as well as adding any Household and Minor Members onto your account.

  • Household Member: Anyone who resides in the same home, with proof of the same address as a current Campus Recreation member and is 19 years of age or older.
  • Minor Member: Anyone between 5 and 18 years of age that has a parent/guardian relationship with a current Campus Recreation member. Age restrictions apply in specific areas.

Using the Online Portal System:

  1. Sign into our Online Portalcan also be found on our website. Please note that you will need to use your UAB URec credentials – NOT your Blazer ID. If you need to create credentials, please contact the Membership Team at recmember@uab.edu or 205-934-8224.
  2. Once you are logged in click “Member Information”
  3. Click “Billing Information”
  4. Click the drop down and select “Credit Card”
  5. Input your Debit/Credit Card information into the correct fields
  6. Select “Submit Changes”
  7. Your Debit/Credit Card is now on your Member Account

Using the Campus Recreation App:

  1. Download the UAB Campus Recreation App
  2. Log in using your credentials. Please note that you will need to use your UAB URec credentials – NOT your Blazer ID. If you need to create credentials, please contact the Membership Team at recmember@uab.edu or 205-934-8224.
  3. Choose “My Account” when you select the top left tab
  4. Select “Edit Member Info”
  5. Select “Financial” at the top
  6. Choose “Credit Card”
  7. Input your Credit Card information into the correct fields
  8. Check the box “Do you want to draft this payment option” to attach it to your monthly member dues.
  9. Select ‘Done”

UAB URec Policies and Procedures

Please read the below statements, as well as the UAB University Recreation Policies and Procedures found on https://www.uab.edu/students/universityrecreation/about in full before completing your Membership submission.

  • All Memberships are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-prorated.
  • All payments are due before status is set to active; the primary member is fiscally responsible for all sub members.
  • Outstanding balances created by the primary or sub members prevent all members associated with the primary account from accessing the UAB Campus Recreation Center until the balance is paid off.
  • UAB University Recreation only allows one form of payment for memberships that are set for monthly deductions.
  • All membership agreements that are not paid in full at the time of purchase are drafted monthly and will continue to be drafted monthly following your agreement term until a cancellation form is submitted and processed.
  • Non-prime members who selected to add a card on file for monthly billing will continue month to month until a cancellation form is submitted and processed, cannot have sub-members on their account.
  • UAB University Recreation requires submission of a completed cancellation form in order to terminate your membership.
  • All Members must use their own ONE Card, Key Fob, or the Mobile App to access UAB Campus Recreation Center.
  • All minors must enter and exit with a parent/guardian for access into the facility.
