Accelerated Masters in Nursing Pathway
Change Your Career, Change Lives. Interested in pursuing a career change to nursing but already have a bachelor's degree, or higher, in a non-nursing field? The Accelerated Masters in Nursing Pathway allows you to become licensed to practice as an RN in three semesters while completing your master’s degree.

Post-Graduate Certificates
Are you looking to advance your nursing education after earning your degree? Earn a post-graduate certificate specializing in one of six nursing areas: Nurse Executive, Clinical Research Management, Addictions Nursing, Nurse Leadership and Population Health, Occupational Health, and APRN.

MSN Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Specialty
Learn to provide the best care for newborn infants who are premature or who have acute or chronic illness. Neonatal Nurse Practitioners collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, social workers and others to provide critical life-sustaining interventions, help parents understand their infant’s condition and care needs, and plan discharge for high-risk infants.

Post-BSN to DNP Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Specialty
Further your nursing education. Graduates of the DNP Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Specialty are prepared for advanced nursing practice to diagnose and manage the health problems of newborns, infants and toddlers up to the age of two years, who are acutely ill or have long term health problems of the neonatal population.

MSN Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Specialty
Do you want to help the millions of people who need mental health services but can’t find a provider? Do you want to help close the mental health care gap through an in-demand, well-paying career? UAB Psych/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner graduates are prepared to assess, diagnose and manage commonly occurring mental health conditions in collaboration with other primary health care providers across all ages.

Post-BSN to DNP Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Specialty
Take the next step in your nursing career. Graduates of the DNP Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Specialty provide mental health care in a variety of primary care settings for patients across the lifespan. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners evaluate, diagnose and develop treatment plans for common and complex mental health conditions.

Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
You have unlimited potential to improve the lives of individuals, families and communities, and change the health care landscape, with a DNP. Learn and work with renowned faculty as you lead and implement health care innovations, lead health care organizations and influence policy.

MSN Nurse Educator Specialty
Did you know you can translate your nursing knowledge and experience into a teaching career? Nurse Educators teach nursing and patient care in a variety of settings to prepare the next generation of nurses. Plus, their work can extend beyond the classroom and into the community through the development of educational care programs specifically for patients and families.

MSN Nurse Management of Care Transitions Specialty
Make patient safety a priority both inside and outside of a health care organization. Nurses specializing in Management of Care Transitions coordinate the transition of patient care from clinical settings to home through risk assessment, interprofessional coordination, and communication to provide the proper support for patients, families, and caregivers.

MSN Nursing Informatics Specialty
Enter a nursing specialty that combines computer science, information science, and nursing science to improve the health of patients and communities by optimizing information management. DNP Nurse Executive Specialty
Advance your nursing career while making a difference in healthcare at the executive level. The Post-MSN to DNP Pathway for Nurse Executives is a practice-focused degree to prepare you to address crucial issues within health systems and lead efforts to improve quality and access to health services for everyone.

DNP Nurse Leadership in Population Health Pathway
Are you interested in helping improve the scope of health resources for your patients? Nurse leaders in population health help develop and manage primary and preventative treatments for patients with chronic conditions to help drive value-based care to make health systems more effective and affordable.

MSN Adult Gerontological Acute Nurse Practitioner
Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NPs provide advanced short and long-term treatments to a range of adult patients in acute and critical care settings in hospitals, ICUs, and urgent care clinics. This program is offered in a hybrid online format with on-campus intensives.

MSN Nurse-Midwifery Pathway
The Nurse-Midwifery Pathway equips you with the advanced nursing skills and clinical experience to provide comprehensive women’s health services, with a special focus on pregnancy, childbirth, and newborn care. Upon graduation, you’ll be eligible to take the national certification exam administered by the American Midwifery Certification Board.
