New learning management system approved by Provost

Canvas logo sized Provost Linda Lucas, Ph.D., has approved the UAB Online Academic Advisory Council's unanimous recommendation to adopt Canvas by Instructure as the enterprisewide learning management system for UAB, replacing Blackboard Learn.

The council followed a comprehensive strategy to enable every member of the UAB community to have a voice in the four-month decision-making process. The transition will occur from Jan. 1 to July 31; Blackboard Learn will no longer be available after Sept. 30.
