SPIN / SMARTS

Find Funding

The Sponsored Programs Information Network (SPIN) database is provided by InfoEd Global, Inc. and includes a modern full-text search engine. Users can do either BASIC or ADVANCED searches using free text or selection of keywords to search a database of over 9,000 governmental, private, and non-profit organizations worldwide. The SPIN Matching and Research Transmittal Service (SMARTS) functionality allows you to set up and save your SPIN searches to have results sent to you once a day or weekly. Grants.gov

Grants.gov allows organizations and individuals to electronically find and apply for competitive grant opportunities from all Federal grant-making agencies. Grants.gov is THE single access point for over 1000 grant programs offered by the 26 federal grant-making agencies.

 

Helpful Hints

  • You DO NOT need a login / password to search funding opportunities on Grants.gov.
  • Many applications packages require the use of the latest Adobe Acrobat version. The software is free and no registration is required. Please visit the Grants.gov Adobe Software Compatibility webpage to review your compatibility.
  • There is NO need to register with Grants.gov, UAB is already registered.
  • Authorized Organization Representatives (AOR) submit applications on behalf of the institution, therefore "AOR" access is restricted to the OSP Staff at UAB.
