Environmental Health & Safety has launched the new EHS Assistant (EHSA) system. To ensure ease of adoption and understanding, it is rolling out in phases. During each phase, EH&S will contact and arrange an orientation followed by access to the system. Access to the system will not be granted until orientation is complete. Purpose
The EH&S Lab Safety Award is presented quarterly by UAB Environmental Health & Safety to a research laboratory that consistently exemplifies and embodies a strong culture of safety, responsibility, innovation, and compliance. These top-performing labs demonstrate that prioritizing safety protects researchers, fosters discovery, and upholds the integrity of their work, embodying our institution's highest standards.
Criteria for Selection
The award criteria include the following:
- Demonstration of an exceptional and consistent commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant research environment.
- Proactive, prompt, and effective resolution of any identified safety concerns.
- Fostering a lab-wide culture that prioritizes safety, responsibility, and the integrity of research.
- Demonstration of outstanding dedication and efficiency from lab managers and personnel in upholding safety standards and compliance.
