Who should complete this course?

Are you responsible for handling, using, or transporting compressed gas cylinders? If so, this training course is required. A copy of the completed training certificate must be maintained in the laboratory files and presented to the proper authorities upon request.

Course Objectives:

At the conclusion, participants should be able to:
  • Properly use, handle, transport, store, dispose of, order, receive, and maintain gas cylinders according to regulatory standards and guidelines.
  • Identify the correct Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to wear when working with a gas cylinder.
  • Recognize the dangers associated with gas cylinders by examining the labels on the gas cylinders and in the SDS.
  • Design an emergency plan and accurately describe what to do in case an incident occurs with a gas cylinder.
