The UAB Police & Public Safety Department supports the goals and standards of Law Enforcement Bicycle Association (LEBA).The Department has several certified LEBA Instructors available to provide training to interested agencies. LEBA Mission
The Law Enforcement Bicycle Association exists to further the training, education, professionalism and unity of police bicycle patrol officers. The association anticipates or recognizes and responds to needs and opportunities in these areas through:
- Effective leadership
- The collection and dissemination of information related to needs and opportunities.
- Acting cooperatively and in a coordinating way.
- Delivering quality training, advice, recommendations programs and services.
- Observing the highest moral and ethical standards.

LEBA offers three levels of basic certifications taught by our nationally certified instructors. Each of our instructors are required to complete a 40 hour basic certification and be recommended to attend the national instructor school, held only once per year.
