Serve205

The Office of Student Involvement and Leadership provides resources to support volunteerism and intentional reflection to ensure that UAB students develop as responsible citizens on campus and in our community.

There are two primary resources to connect to volunteer opportunities:

BlazerPulse

BlazerPulse helps students, faculty, and staff identify, organize, and promote volunteer projects. Volunteer opportunities are listed on BlazerPulse by both community agencies as well as UAB student organizations. Students interested in service should begin their search for volunteer opportunities through the BlazerPulse platform. BlazerPulse opportunities can also be found on Engage, listed under the Service tab.

Serve205

The mission of Serve205 is to guide mutually beneficial, on-going relationships between UAB students and the greater Birmingham community, achieved through intentionally designed volunteer experiences that cultivate a community of awareness and influence social change. Serve205 sponsors 10 volunteer projects per month (September - November & February - April).

Each project is aligned with a Sustainable Development Goal. Seventeen Sustainable Development Goals were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 in an effort to achieve peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. Serve205 has selected 5 goals to focus on this year through volunteer efforts including no poverty, zero hunger, good health and well being, quality education, and sustainable cities and communities.

All Serve205 volunteer opportunities will be listed on BlazerPulse.
