What are the fees and costs related to recruitment and membership?
If one goes through the recruitment process and chooses to join a fraternity, he will pay a one-time new member fee of $30 due on bid day in order to receive his bid. IFC will accept only check or money orders made out to UAB IFC. If he does not receive a bid or chooses not to accept, he will not owe the fee. Anyone who accepts a bid after bid day or in the spring will also owe this one-time fee upon membership.
Fraternity membership costs vary by chapter, but an average is 1200-1400 per year.
