• Are you looking for ways to get your little Blazers active this summer? URec Summer Camp is just for you! Your child will have the opportunity for hands-on-learning, interactive games, arts and crafts, sports, pool time and other FUN blazin' activities! The UAB URec Summer camp will be available to little Blazers between the ages of 5 and 12.

    As Birmingham welcomes the World Games, UAB University Recreation is currently working on the logistics due to the impact of World Games and the need to change our normal operations as we host two sports during that time. This year’s camp will look different to our previous offerings, as we will need to utilize Bartow Arena on campus during portions of the summer.

    Summer Camps General Information
  • In this section, you can find Online Fillable and Printable PDFs of the 2022 Summer Camp Enrollment Forms (one per family), 2022 Camper Health Information Form (one per child), and the Youth Protection Program: Release of Liability, Assumption of the Risk, and Indemnification form (one per child). All three documents must be fully completed and signed in order to register and make the deposit. Once they are completed, you can email them to us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or drop them off in person at the Membership Services desk during normal operating hours.

    Please remember, there is a $50 deposit per week/child that is needed to reserve your spot in camps. Spot is not reserved until the deposit is collected. The payment may be processed in person or over the phone at 205-996-5038.

    UAB Affiliate $160 per child/ per week
    Non-Affiliates $190 per child/ per week

    * $50 deposit is needed to hold your spot in camps
    **5% discount is taken off the total camp balance for signing up multiple children!
    *** Before and After Care options are available at $5 each per day

    • Youth camp deposits are non-refundable and non-transferrable. No cash refunds.
    • All refund and cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via the Refund Request Form and received by University Recreation Staff.
    • Refund requests received 7 or more days prior to the first day of camp are eligible for a full refund minus the $50 deposit.
      • **If camp fees are paid in full, $50 payment (per child) is considered a deposit
      • ** Single Day Camps are eligible for 50% refund
    • Refund requests received fewer than 7 days prior to the first day of camp are eligible for a 50% refund of the total amount paid
      • Not applicable to Single Day Camps
      • Refund requests received fewer than 24 hours prior to the start of camp will not be offered a refund unless the two circumstances below pertain to you.
    • Refund requests received fewer than 7 days prior to the start of camp may be offered a full refund for the following situations only:
      • Medical Withdrawal (doctor’s note required)
      • Military Relocation (documentation required)
    • Transfers can be made up to 7 days prior to the first day of camp (deposits are non-transferrable, additional deposit is required)
