Deputy Chief Amy C. Schreiner
Deputy Chief Amy C. Schreiner is responsible for the supervision and daily operations of the Patrol, Office of Professional Standards and Lieutenant of Housing and Special Operations divisions. She also oversees the function of the Accreditation, Communication, Compliance, Crime Prevention and Training units.
Deputy Chief Washington
Deputy Chief Washington is responsible for the supervision and the daily operations of the Hospital (Police/Security) and Criminal Investigations divisions.
Washington began her law enforcement career with the City of Birmingham and has been with the UAB Police & Public Safety Department since 1997. She received her bachelors degree in criminal justice from UAB and she is currently pursuing a graduate degree in public administration.
Also, Deputy Chief Washington is a graduate of the 257th session of the FBI National Academy. She has been a Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) Assessor since 2008, and she is a member of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, a Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) instructor and crime analyst.
Her first priorities are to develop stronger partnerships between the Police & Public Safety Department and the various campus constituencies. She believes this plays an important role in the growth and staff development, by positively affecting perceptions of campus safety.
