Create a Blazer ID

When you become a Blazer, you become a Blazer for life. That can never change. Neither can your BlazerID, so think long and hard before you make your choice. Once you’re ready, track down your student number (in your admission letter and follow-up email), and then use it to create your BlazerID and password. We’ll use the BlazerID for your email address. It’ll even stick with you if you become a UAB employee one day.

Once a student creates their BlazerID and password, it will take one hour to activate.

Pay the Freshman Enrollment Deposit

Don’t forget to pay your Freshman Enrollment Deposit. It’s $200 and due June 1, 2020. The first $150 will cover your orientation fee, which pays for you and a parent or other adult to attend our Goin’ Green New Student Orientation, as well as other enrollment fees. The remaining $50 goes into your student account balance to give you a head start.

The deadline for the freshman enrollment deposit has been extended to June 1.

Reserve a Spot for Orientation

As an incoming freshman, you’re required to attend our Goin’ Green New Student Orientation. But it’s no chore. In fact, we think you’ll quite enjoy it. You’ll register for classes, get your ONE Card (UAB ID), learn about support services, meet other future Blazers, and much more.

At this time, UAB's summer student orientations have not been canceled and we plan to hold them on their designated dates.

Apply for Housing

Another requirement for freshmen is that you spend your first academic year in an on-campus residence hall. Which means you’ll live in the heart of, well, everything. Freshman housing is a short walk from the Dining Commons, Hill Student Center, campus libraries, and all your classroom buildings. Get your housing application in now.

This requirement applies to all first-time freshmen who graduated from high school in the same year as, or the year prior to, their first semester at UAB.
