Are you ready to make the move to UAB? Submit these materials to apply as a transfer or second bachelor’s student:
- a completed application;
- a nonrefundable $40 application fee;
- official proof of English proficiency (unless English is your first language);
- official transcripts from every university and college you have attended in the United States.*
If you live outside the U.S. or last attended college outside the U.S.:
If you live in the U.S. and attend a college or university in the U.S.:
*UAB accepts both mailed and electronic transcripts - Mailing Address. Transcripts must be sent directly to UAB from the institution to be considered official. For transcripts sent through a secured transcript service (like Parchment, eScrip, or National Student Clearinghouse), please select University of Alabama at Birmingham from the vendor’s dropdown menu.

*Although applications submitted after the deadline will be considered on a space-available basis, you are encouraged to apply as early as possible to ensure ample time to review your application and render an admission decision.
If English is not your native language, then you will have to submit an English proficiency test score. Official test scores should be sent directly from the testing agency to UAB. The score you submit should not be more than two years old.
If you have completed at least 24 semester hours of transferable credit at a U.S. college or university, then you do not have to submit proof of English proficiency.
