Shhhh…. she’s sleeping. Shree is a passionate nap enthusiast. Her favorite thing about UAB is how each and every student can find their place on campus. Through the various opportunities for internships, volunteering, and student organizations, students have an endless number of possibilities to find where their passions lie and discover who they are.

The Master Chef. Jamison loves to cook for his friends and family. His favorite dish to cook is chicken pot pie, and his favorite thing about UAB is the Campus Recreation Center where he likes to chill by the pool after a nice workout.

Vroom Vroom! Jada loves Formula 1. Her favorite driver is Lewis Hamilton #44. Her favorite thing about UAB are the many different events hosted by the Commons. Catch her having fun at the annual Mardi Gras celebration.

Busy Bee! Ava really likes school and work and loves to be busy! Her favorite thing about UAB is all the amazing people she meets on campus!

Tons of puppy love! Gillian has four Golden Doodles! She loves to take her dogs on the trails at Oak Mountain State Park. Her favorite thing about UAB is the campus green. Catch her hanging in her hammock and reading a book!

Popping or Pearls? Yi’s favorite boba are pearls. He loves boba and would never turn down an invitation to the teashop. His favorite thing about UAB is its sunsets. He thinks that they are so beautiful, you can’t help but to take a moment and appreciate them.

Empty chair do a solo! Karleigh spent 10 years in ballet and contemporary dance. Find her at the rec center dancing in a studio! Her favorite thing about UAB is the walkable community downtown, and that it doesn’t take long to get places!
Joshlynn Hunter
Birmingham, AL
A Musical Prodigy! Joshlynn plays many different instruments. She loves music, no matter the genre! Her main instrument is her Trumpet named Mitch after the tenor in Pentatonix. She has been playing Mitch for 10 years now. Her favorite thing about UAB is the Hulsey Center for the Arts! It has classes, teaching/ recording studios, a music technology laboratory, practice rooms, and best of all a 9-foot Steinway grand piano.

A big concertgoer! Cam loves going to concerts at nearby venues, his favorite concert this semester was Faye Webster. His favorite thing about UAB is that it is easy to get involved. No matter the person's experience or classification, there's something on campus that students can get involved with.

Diya Singh

Picasso and Mozart who? Diya loves anything from art to music! She has commissioned a lot of her art pieces to many different people and loves to play the piano. Her favorite thing about UAB is the sense of community that you can find no matter where you are from. As a Punjabi Pre-Med student, Diya is able to fully understand and learn about the impacts of culture in medicine and find a sense of community with her undergraduate class.

No, I am your father. Lacie has watched every Star Wars movie in one sitting! Her favorite thing about UAB is how diverse it is! We are one of the most diverse schools in the nation! We have students from over 80 different countries!

A Blazer Baller! Vincent has gotten to shoot on the UAB basketball court during a time out at a home game. His favorite thing about UAB is watching the different athletic games, like the football and basketball games, for free with his ONE card.

A perfect 180! Tez can do a perfect toe touch. His favorite thing about UAB is the department of theater. It is amazing to have so many people dedicated to him and his artistic growth.
