All five courses in the certificate program are MBA graduate-level courses and can be applied toward the MBA if you decide to continue your education after earning this valuable credential.

The Foundations of Business Administration Certificate program addresses the fundamental business disciplines of accounting and finance, management, information technology and marketing, and consists of five MBA graduate level courses (three credit hours each); four core courses and one elective course. The certificate can be completed in one year if taken on a part-time basis.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following admission criteria:

  • A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university or equivalent for international students (as evidenced by a credentialing evaluation from ECE or WES) with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Students who have a cumulative GPA less than 3.0 may be eligible based on work experience.
  • A master’s degree from a regionally accredited university or equivalent for international students as evidenced by a credentialing evaluation from ECE or WES.
  • Current student in a UAB graduate program.
