Application Deadlines

International applicants should apply at least 6 months in advance of the deadline in order to ensure processing of all Visa paperwork.

  • Fall semester  - August 1
  • Spring semester  - December 1 
  • Summer semester - May 1

Required Documents

The GMAT application requirement is currently being waived. Applicants will be evaluated using all other listed requirements.  However, students who need to strengthen their application may want to consider submitting a GMAT score of 480 or higher.  

  • Application form including 3 professional letters of reference.
  • Statement of purpose.
  • Current resume detailing work experience.
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended sent directly by the Registrar or responsible head of the institution to the UAB Graduate School, 1720 2nd Ave. S., LHL G03, Birmingham, AL 35294-0013.

Additional Document Requirements for International Applicants Only

  • TOEFL IBT score of 80 or IELTS of 6.5.
  • General academic credentials evaluation (ECE or WES report).


  • Baccalaureate Degree - Applicants must be holders of a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution. 
  • Quantitative Requirement -Admission to the UAB MBA Program requires that students have completed the equivalent of a pre-calculus course with a grade of "C" or better within the past five years. A free, self-paced pre-calculus tutorial and quiz is provided online for admitted students who do not meet this requirement and must be successfully completed before the start of their first term.
