Application Consulting Services

UAB IT’s Application Consulting Services team can help create technology solutions to meet the needs of your department — and help meet the needs of the University community with efficient, compliant, secure services.

The primary goal of Application Consulting Services is to provide departments with application development assistance or expertise, as well as access to the systems and hardware needed to support the applications.

We provide these services at a greatly reduced rate over the public market. Ongoing maintenance contracts are also available that reduce overall costs for maintenance.

• Application Development
  Program coding, research, testing, implementation, and production migrations.
• Consulting Services
  Assistance in application development, vendor research, assisting in the selection process for third party products.

Per Application

• Application Maintenance
  Annual maintenance contract is available for certain application solutions.
  • Pricing is determined by either 18% of the total cost to produce an application solution, or by a negotiated rate.

Assistance with existing applications for enhancements or maintenance.

External Consultant Services

When in-house resources are not available or expertise outside of the department is required, we can locate and hire external consulting resources.

Product Comparison Services

Assistance with product comparisons including requirements, features, pricing, and resource requirements.

Project Management

Management of project tasks including resources, tasks, and reporting.

Credit Card Services

Setup of PCI compliant credit card payment gateway and necessary application modifications.
