Academic Service Centers + Collaboratives
Academic service centers are faculty-led within a school or college with the goal of eventually becoming official, UA System-approved centers, institutes, or academic units. Grant-funded initiatives that do not have their own visual identity should adopt co-branding with UAB. Contact the Office of Marketing and Communications to set up co-branding. Grant-funded initiatives that do have their own visual identity provided by the granting body should contact the Office of Marketing and Communications for review and approval of any use of UAB trademarks.
Examples:
- Lockup: Alabama Public Service Training
- Two-tier Lockup: School of Health Professions Research Collaborative
- Co-brand: Regional Autism Network – The nature of the partnership should be evaluated to determine whether the co-branding leads with UAB.
Branding: A logo lockup, or two-tier lockup, may be created by the UAB Office of Marketing and Communications.

These are non-curriculum based university programs and services aimed at internal audiences (students, faculty and staff) that could have an external reach.

- Trailblazers (student orientation leaders)
- UAB Pathfinders (Resource for students to get plugged in)
- Serve 205 (Student Affairs service organization)

- Fast 40 (Alumni business recognition program)
Service Examples: (often has a storefront)
