Lockups

A lockup includes the monogram and university wordmark paired with a university school, college, center, institute, or administrative unit name. Lockups are created by the Office of Marketing and Communications and are made available for download on the Digital Asset Library (DAL) at digitalassets.uab.edu. Only lockups created and provided by the Office of Marketing and Communications are official and approved. Do not create your own lockup.

Note: Lockups may never be stretched, rotated, curved, flipped, filled with imagery, edited with visual effects, or otherwise altered in any way other than as presented in this guide.

Shortcuts

A shortcut is condensed branding intended only for specific marketing and merchandise use cases*. To maintain core forward branding, the monogram remains a prominent and highly visible feature. To avoid using an acronym and maintain core forward branding, a shortcut keeps the monogram prominent and highly visible. Non-essential portions of official unit names (i.e. Office of, Department of, etc.) may be omitted in shortcuts. Shortcuts are created by the Office of Marketing and Communications and are available by request to units, including departments and programs. To request a shortcut, please complete the form: go.uab.edu/brandrequest.
